Thompson Bros JHK (Hampden) Jamaican Rum, 2009 12yo, 322 Btls, 62.1% This interesting rum comes from the Hampden Distillery in Jamaica. It carries the DOK marque, which is the highest legal marque at Hampden at 1500-1600 g/hlpa - which in simpler terms, means that it's an ester bomb! Funky and meaty. Nose: tar-pit, savoury, funky, umami bomb, over-ripe fruits, acetone Palate: acetone, guava, tropical fruits, jackfruits, medium sweet, green bananas. Funky but all very balanced and enjoyable!
